Great quote from Barron's interview this w/e from Jeremy Grantham: 

Q. Do you think we will learn anything from all of this turmoil? 

JG. We will learn an enormous amount in a very short time, quite a bit in the medium term and absolutely nothing in the long term. That would be the historical precedent.

Any security pro has seen a case where once a security event happens, there is a lot of collaboration, decision making and action. Motivated organizations can be very impressive, what is hard is to marshal these responses in advance, and of course this is about the biggest hurdle to building security in. If we are going to move infosec faster than glacial we need to educate
